Mallorca with kids
Mallorca is a great holiday island for a family holiday with children of all ages. Many families with children return to Mallorca year after year, and in their eyes, Mallorca is the best destination for a holiday with children.
The editors of this website agrees. Our interest in Mallorca started when the children were very young, when we spent our summer holidays in Mallorca for many years in a row. Most of the time we stayed in Port d’Alcudia at the very child-friendly Viva Blue & Spa. The kids loved their own swimming pool with pirate ship and water slides, and for the adults the hotel has a spa and fitness centre. Incredibly good 4-star all-inclusive family hotel.
Child-friendly holiday resorts in Mallorca
Port d’Alcudia is without a doubt the most family-friendly holiday resort in Mallorca. The wide sandy beach with very shallow water is one of the most child-friendly and popular beaches in Europe. There are also many activities for children in Port d’Alcudia, such as the Hidropark water park, a large go-kart track and the Albufera nature park. A perfect hotel for families with children is the 4-star Hotel Condesa, which is located right on the beach and also has a large, beautiful pool area. There are special family rooms and an all-inclusive option.
Another child-friendly holiday resort in Mallorca is Palma Nova. Palma Nova is a relatively large holiday resort with three large and beautiful sandy beaches. There are many activities for children nearby, such as a water park, go-kart track and Mallorca’s best mini golf course. The 4-star aparthotel Zafiro Palmanova & Spa is perfect for families with children. The hotel has a large children’s pool with pirate ship and water slides, many activities and an all-inclusive option with a delicious buffet.
Activities for children in Mallorca
Mallorca has a large and varied range of activities for children. Most popular are the three water parks, Hidropark in Port d’Alcudia, Western Waterpark in Palma Nova and Aqualand el Arenal in Playa de Palma. Water is also available at the Marineland dolphin park in Portals Nous, where there are daily shows with dolphins, sea lions and penguins.
Children (and adults) can get their adrenaline pumping at the Jungle Parc climbing park. A large climbing park with ropes, zip lines, bridges and more up to 10 metres high! The adrenaline is also pumping at Mallorca’s six go-kart tracks, the most popular of which are located in the holiday resorts of Magaluf and Ca’n Picafort. There are go-karts for children of all ages. Families can also compete at Golf Fantasia in Palma Nova, the largest and most beautiful mini golf course in Mallorca.
On a rainy day, we recommend a trip to Palma Aquarium, which has one of the deepest shark tanks in Europe and a beautiful tunnel through the shark tank. There are many other species of fish and interesting reptiles.

Child-friendly beaches in Mallorca
If you rent a car, many of Mallorca’s best beaches are great for children. One of them is Mallorca’s most famous beach, Es Trenc, located on the south coast. However, we would recommend another beach on the south coast, S’Amarador, which is well protected in a picturesque bay.
On the north coast, we would recommend Cala Agulla, which is also in beautiful surroundings and good for children. A slightly quieter beach is located on the north-east coast in the small holiday resort of Canyamel. A lovely beach with plenty of space to play and shallow water.
