Cala Ratjada
Cala Ratjada is located in the north-east coast of Mallorca, just a few kilometres east of Capdepera. With a distance of 81 km, it is the holiday resort in Mallorca that is the furthest from the airport.
The beach in general
The largest and best-known beach in Cala Ratjada is Son Moll. The beach is close to the city, but with the many trees behind the beach and the beautiful colors of the water, it is a nice nature experience.
Son Moll is 150 meters long and quite wide. It is covered with the finest sand, and sunbeds and umbrellas are rented on the beach. There is also access to showers, toilets and a beach bar. And a mini-market is close by if there is a longing for cold refreshments, snacks and fresh fruit.
The wide beach promenade Avinguda d’America runs along the coast from the beach to the marina. The trip can be recommended, not least with a good ice cream in hand.
Son Moll has a lot of visitors, and it can be difficult to find parking spaces close to the beach.
Child friendliness
The first meters out into the water are good for children, but after that it quickly gets deeper. Overall, a child-friendly beach.
Water sports
There is no rental of water sports activities, but on the right side of the beach there are some rocks that are worth snorkeling around.
Restaurants by the beach
There is a café/beach bar right on the beach itself, while there are also several restaurants close by.
The holiday resort Cala Ratjada
Like many other holiday resorts in Mallorca, Cala Ratjada was originally a fishing village and Cala Ratjada continues to have the second largest fishing port after Palma de Mallorca. However, the beautiful harbor also has many yachts and of course the boats that sail the tourists on trips, including to the neighboring island of Menorca.
The town itself is among the most beautiful holiday resorts in Mallorca. Just a walk along the promenade is worth it, but the streets behind the promenade are also nice, and have a broad selection of shops and restaurants.
The hotels are well spread out across the city. The 4-star Prinsotel La Pineda is located centrally in the city, and family-friendly hotel is in walking distance from Son Moll and Cala Agulla beaches. The same goes for the charming harbor area.

The map shows Son Moll just down to the left of the center of the picture. The harbour goes further to the northeast and even further to the northeast comes the small but charming beach Cala Gat. In the north is the popular Cala Agulla.
